Wiped Out

Thursday, January 22, 2009 was a very bad day for me. My external hard drive is wiped out! This means that five years of my family's history was gone in an instant. Photos of my kids first communion, Ryan's graduation, the twins' birth, all gone.

I am just so sick to my stomach right now. Those photos are priceless to me and I will never have them back. Just remember to backup even your external hard drive, I did not realize this had to be done. I thought I was safe, so please learn from my mistake.

Today we are beginning the surge of Arctic temps. So, I thought an entry from a beautiful, sunny day at the beach may warm us up.

I love this photo of my boys. You can see how much love they share for one another, and that they truly enjoy being together. The smiles on their faces really warms my heart!!

Pure Sweetness

Look at this beautiful face...it is pure sweetness!! Her gorgeous smile and big brown eyes just melt your heart. Her personality is also so sweet and caring, and the girl has style. What more could you ask for?

Strengthen

Here is to a Happy 2009!!
As I sit back and reflect on 2008, and as I look forward to 2009, one word comes to me over and over again…strengthen. I want to strengthen myself and my purpose in life.

I want to strengthen my relationships with family and friends. In regards to Chris, I want to strengthen our love and respect for one another. Some times in the every day chaos, I think we take each other for granted and I do not want to do that. I want to share more one on one time, and enjoy each other.

I want to strengthen my parenting skills. I want to practice more patience and make time for the simple moments in life. I want to stop and enjoy the youth and innocence of my children. I want to grab each moment and hold on to it forever.

I want to strengthen me. I want to be a healthy, strong woman, both physically and mentally. I want satisfaction at the end of the day, and know that I have done my best.

Lastly, I want to strengthen my faith. Yes, I am a practicing Catholic, but on my birthday, I am going to begin my 40 day journey with the book, “The Purpose Driven Life. Sometimes I forget, I am truly blessed, and there is so much more than possessions and the rat race. I am hoping to begin the second half of my life with purpose and a stronger faith in God.

I hope when I read this next year, I have been successful in my endeavor to strengthen my life.

New Years Eve

New Year's Eve is all about family. We get take out Chineese, watch the football bowl games and play board games. The boys had an intense game of RISK, while the ladies played pass the pigs, alphabet bingo and DORA chutes and ladders.

Bed time was 10:30 pm!

I had to complete today's journal page. After all it is my birthday, and I thought it would be nice to celebrate me! Journaling reads...Today is ephiany and Christmas
comes to an end. It is also my 44th birthday, and my journey begins to strengthen my purpose in life.
